Powderhorn 2017

Adult high-adventure training weekend - aka Powderhorn - is scheduled at Camp Raymond for September 21-23.

This is an excellent opportunity to get trained in and personally experience high-adventure activities, as well have an all-around excellent outdoor time. Flyer will be attached soon, but get this on your calendar.

April Forum Summary

Thanks to those that brought dutch oven dishes, and for the rest that came to forum to eat and enjoy with us.

Once the chefs email me their recipes, I'll make a recipe link so you can download your favorites.

Of all the years we've done this, I think overall this year had the tastiest dishes - many thanks!

The contest winners were:

Main dish: Derrick Dickerson, Gilbert 3rd Ward - Dutch Oven Fajitas
Dessert dish: Rick Wilson, Fairview Ward - Scratch Brownies

Enjoy the month. We'll look forward to seeing you in May for our last forum before summer break.

Forum Summary for April 2016

We had a great forum tonight - thanks to all that participated.

Brad Miner shared the high adventure spotlight: his crew's trip to Durango, hiking the 14K peaks and white water rafting. You can get his handout here and watch the video here.

Adam Kunz, from Camelback District, is on the Council's Shooting Sports Committee (or something like that.) He gave a great presentation on shooting sports. You can find the summary of his talk here.

Reminder about training this Saturday, for those that need it (see the previous blog post for the link.)

There's also an Israeli Scout Caravan on Saturday, June 11th at 6pm - at the LDS Stake Center on the SE Corner of Elliot and Lindsay (777 E Elliot Rd in Gilbert.)

Thanks, and we'll see you in May - the last forum before our summer break.
