Forum Summary for January 2016

Forum Summary for January 2016

Thanks to those that attended forum. You're off to a good start for 2016.

Brian Smith gave the High Adventure presentation about his crew's 50 mile hike to Mount Whitney in California - the tallest peak in the 48 states. If you want to contact him directly with questions about how they planned and did the hike, you can reach him by email at brianparkersmith@yahoo.com

Here's a link to his presentation, and you can find it under the High Adventure page, too.

Have a great month.

Welcome to Venturing Forum for 2016

FIRST FORUM FOR 2016

Reminder that tonight is the first Venturing Forum for 2016.

Make a resolution to be at Forum each month. One of my resolutions will be to catch this blog up to date with all the previous presentations and stay more on top of it this year.

We have a great schedule for this year, and hope to see you each month as we'll present topics to help you be a better leader for your crews.

See the District Venturing Newsletter (available by linking to the section to the right) for all the details.

See you tonight!

August Forum Review

Thanks to all the presented and attended this first forum after summer break. Attendance was excellent, as were the presentations.

James Hatch presented about his crew's high adventure into southern Utah - (and I'll update this and the high adventure page when I get his summary.)

David Garner prepared a slideshow about Favorite Arizona Hikes. He probably should be an editor on HikeArizona.com - but this slideshow will narrow down the about jillion different hikes you can take in Arizona. Click the link for the PDF: Favorite Hikes in AZ 2015

Remember the previous post about nominations for district awards for the year end presentation.

Also, an update about the District Fly-in event planned for November: it has been CANCELED. We apologize that it could not get worked out with the Flying Eagles group for this year, but hope that it can happen again in the future.
